Slightly shorter delay between episodes this time.
This episode managed to be both expositiony and quite weird. Also robot gore.
I suck at getting round to working on this show sometimes, well, most of the time.
Anyways, decided to do these two episodes together as they are the last Tomino directed episode, and the first episode directed by Nagahama. Episode 28 should follow in a week or two, it smacks you over the head with the exposition bat.
So, what actually happens in these episodes? To avoid spoiling much all I say is villainous schemes, acts of desperation by a certain prince, and a new threat appears.

2 years….Jesus Christ.
Anyways, here we have an episode of Yuusha Raideen that was so spectacularly stupid I found other things to do for 2 years. And I am far too good at finding things to do that aren’t what I’m supposed to be doing.
Big thanks to the anon from 4chan who timed and did that rough crabstick sub for me to hack into something sensical and compare to my 2 year old notes for the first half of the ep (past me’s draft was bizzare), and to DLK and Luurah (sorry for forgetting to put you in the credits) for volunteering to QC this mess after fighting off Layzner’s timing gremlins and discovering first hand how different Raideen is from Layzner in terms of script writing. This episode may be a little rough around the edges, but it’s out and when things calm down IRL I can release more eps.
So enjoy the double dose of stupidity where people don’t tell each other something really important and manage to forget basic training.

First volume of the Great Mazinger manga is out, big thanks to the guys at Dynamic Pro scans for the typesetting, editing and raw cleaning and to Lunasaint for being my translation checker. This volume is more a combination of the events of Great General of Darkness and Great Mazinger proper, Great itself doesn’t turn up til half way in.
I really ought to just grit my teeth and finish the next ep of Raideen, even though I hate the episode with a passion.
I know, I know, it’s been a while. To explain: this started as me attempting to prank the uni anime society for our termly anything-goes marathon. That was in November, this became much more difficult and brain breaking that expected. Hell, LN my timer gave up 2/3 of the way through, declaring it to be Cthulu the anime, so I had to rope in another mate, Sealy, to finish it. In the end I missed the deadline so I sat on the rough draft for a few months becase I really, really didn’t want to finish it. In the meantime [ARR] released a version of it. Let’s just say LN was not the least bit amused at the prospect that his work and sanity would go to waste. Cue 3 days of me being yelled at over IRC and being reliant on a lot of Robot Unicorn, sugar and 01011001 to get me through the translation check without wanting to curl up in a ball and cry. I apologise if there are any dodgy lines or translation errors, I did the best I could but this show kills brain cells and LN was utterly sloshed when he did the QC so he’d survive it. If you haven’t figured this out already THERE WILL BE NO EPISODE 2. Episode 2 was painful enough just to watch, I can’t even begin to contemplate the idea of translating it.
Ginguiser is a show about a stage show magician based giant robot. It has dodgy production values and does very nasty things to the 4th wall. Whether it’s bad in a good way, or bad in an awful way is a matter of opinion.
Anyway, now this weight is off my soul, I can get back to working on Raideen properly (the first volume of the Great Mazinger manga is half done).
And with this volume, the Mazinger Z manga comes to a close. But fear not, for Great Mazinger shall be worked on next. Thanks to the guys at Dynamic Pro for handling editing, typesetting and tracking down the raws for this.
